Moonah Arts Centre’s popular 2013 Friday Night Concert Series continues on Friday the 6th of September with ambient multi- instrumentalists, ETHEREAL.
Ethereal will be presenting a one hour concert ‘Shimmer’
The concert features guest artist Sean Brady with the harmonic sounds of oriental gongs.
This will be an exquisite visual and sound experience blending the mystical sounds of Chinese gongs with Ethereal’s haunting emotive melodies of Harps, Cello, flutes and didgeridoo. Be taken on a timeless journey of beauty, emotion and inspiration!
Ehereal formed in early 2006 as a multi-instrumental ensemble including harps, flute and strings, The ensemble’s first CD ‘Whispers in the Moonlight’ was released later that year. Ethereal found its niche in performing original compositions and improvisations, and the second CD, ‘Homeland echoes of the journey’ (2007) features seven long play tracks of original music. The music of Ethereal is hauntingly beautiful and is often inspired by the natural beauty of Tasmania. Musical influences incorporated in the ensemble’s unique sound include classical and Celtic genres and a variety of world music styles.
Ethereal has performed at a number of Tasmanian festivals including Cygnet Folk Festival, The Mountain Festival, Taste of the Huon, Focus on Franklin, Medieval Mayhem and The Tamar Valley Folk Festival. Ethereal has been a regular feature of the Moonah Arts Centre concert series. Ethereal CDs are available for purchase online at www.indie-cds.com and in Hobart, Tasmania shops and cafes.
