About the speakers:

Graeme Wells returned to the University of Tasmania in 2004, after twenty five years at universities in Australia and overseas. He has served as the head of economics departments at Victoria University of Wellington and the Australian National University. Since his return to Tasmania he has been an active contributor to economic debates surrounding the forest industry and other policy debacles.

Peter Whish-Wilson joined the Australian Senate when Dr Bob Brown retired in June 2012. This year he launched ‘TASMANIA 2030: A vision for a Green, Dynamic and Prosperous Tasmanian Economy’ which outlines the Greens’ 20 year plan for Tasmania’s economy. Peter was a lecturer and researcher in economics and finance at the University of Tasmania, is a former Senior Vice President at Deutsche Bank and a tireless advocate for the environment.
