The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, joined the Tasmanian President of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), Kelvin Michael, to unveil the NTEU television ad campaign supporting Mr Wilkie’s re-election in Denison.

Mr Wilkie said he was delighted by the television advertisements and the NTEU’s support.

“Higher education is of critical importance to the electorate of Denison so it’s appropriate that it plays a major part in this election campaign,” Mr Wilkie said.

“The Federal Government’s $2.3 billion cuts to universities and university students will devastate tertiary education, costing 150 jobs at the University of Tasmania alone.”
