For the first time in Sydney, Sea Shepherd’s newest ship, the Sam Simon will be at Circular Quay over the weekend Sat 31st Aug / Sun 1st Sept. The ship will be hosting public tours from 8am-5pm both days. The ship is a former Japanese fisheries vessel bought secretly from Government last year. It is named after Sea Shepherd’s friend, donor and The Simpsons co-creator Sam Simon. The ship served as part of our fleet for last year’s campaign which saved 932 whales. The Sam Simon and its crew are preparing for our 10th campaign, Operation Relentless, defending whales in the Antarctic.

Previous ship visits to Circular Quay have brought 2-3000 people to take tours and hear stories from the crew of frontline whale defence. We expect that with the new ship and its amazing paint job that Sydney will offer us an even bigger welcome this time around.
