RACT Insurance is urging all policy holders affected by yesterday’s statewide strong
winds and downpours to call 13 27 22 and lodge a claim as soon as possible.

RACT Insurance CEO Trent Sayers said the organisation was doing everything it could
to make the process as simple as possible for those Tasmanians affected.

“The sooner customers lodge their claims, the sooner we can go about assessing and
fixing the damage caused by the conditions,” Mr Sayers said.

“We have staff on the ground to help assess the damage to policy holders properties.
“We want to reassure policy holders affected by yesterday’s events that cover with
RACT Insurance automatically includes protection against flood damage.

“Assessors, carpet cleaning services and other resources are also currently being
deployed through RACT Insurance’s local networks to those policy holders who have
already submitted claims.”

With 70 claims already lodged, Mr Sayers said he expected this number to rise slightly
once the full extent of the strong winds and downpours had become clear.

“People who think their property may be unsafe due to damage caused by the conditions
are encouraged to contact RACT Insurance on 13 27 22,” Mr Sayers said.
