Join artist Nancy Mauro-Flude for an introductory workshop on the use of code in contemporary art practice. The workshop aims to introduce participants to the exciting world of networked art. Nancy currently has work displayed in the Gallery as part of the exhibition ‘Testing Ground’.
Nancy will guide participants through the processes involved in researching, creating and making work that utilises software like QR and AR Layers and codes. Participants are encouraged to bring their smart phones and to download a free Application called Layar &/or any QR Barcode Scanner, before the start of the workshop. Nancy Mauro-Flude is a Tasmanian performing artist and network media designer. She is published internationally in print and online. Her work is commissioned, exhibited and performed in Australia, UK, Europe, North/South-America and Asia. Nancy is a PhD candidate and Sessional Lecturer at the Tasmanian College of the Arts, University of Tasmania, and artistic Director of Miss Despoina’s Critical Engineering Space.
The Gallery is pleased to have such an experienced artist and educator running a program at the Gallery and encourages artist’s and the community interested new technology to take advantage of this great opportunity.
The Devonport Regional Gallery is a contemporary art space in the CBD of Devonport that shows a range of contemporary art, craft and design.
