“Why are same-sex marriage advocates so opposed to a referendum? asked Save Marriage Coalition spokesperson Guy Barnett today.
“Mr Rodney Croome and others have been calling for debate and lobbying for years and now they are act scared of public opinion. Is it because the silent majority might express views against same-sex marriage?
“The Save Marriage Coalition is not scared of a referendum on same-sex marriage, Mr Barnett said.
“Although it appears the Government and Opposition may not support a referendum at this federal election we would welcome it and participate in the public debate.
“The more people understand that same-sex marriage denies a child the right to both a mum and a dad we believe they will see the merit of the institution of marriage.
“Marriage is a bedrock institution worthy of protection”, Mr Barnett concluded.
