In an effort to manage the outpouring of support for those affected by the bushfires across the State,
Volunteering Tasmania (VT) would like to advise it has set up a volunteer registry for those wishing to
contribute to relief efforts.

After being overwhelmed with the number of Tasmanians wishing to volunteer their time, the registry
enables people to input their contact details, skill sets and any resources they are able to offer or
donate. Due to the high volume of people offering their support, people are asked to use the online
registry rather than phoning VT.

Currently, Volunteering Tasmania is in the fortunate position of having an excess of people volunteering
their time and skills, however registering your details gives VT the support we need to ensure the
volunteering situation remains positive.

Emergency services are currently using volunteers trained in emergency relief to assist with fires and
the clean-up, however people interested in contributing to future relief efforts are encouraged to look at
volunteering in a long term position. Anyone interested in being trained with the SES, Red Cross,
Salvation Army or Tasmania Fire Services is asked to also register their name and contact details.
Information on those services will then be provided at a later date for potential recruitment.

For any immediate donations, please contact the Red Cross Tasmanian Bushfires Appeal.
