The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association has organised an information session in Launceston tomorrow for farmers who leased their land to Gunns for it to grow plantation timber.
The meeting will be held at the University/Mowbray Football Club rooms at Newnham on Tuesday, October 16 from 4.30 pm to 6 p.m. (turn off the East Tamar Highway onto the Newnham link road, then take the first right, Brooks Road).
TFGA CEO Jan Davis said legal, financial and other specialist advisers would attend.
“People are still confused,” Ms Davis said. “There are many permutations of the contractual relationships between growers and Gunns or its managed investment schemes.
“Up-to-date, correct information is vital and that’s what we hope to achieve.
“This offer is open to any affected farmer, whether or not they are a TFGA member,” she said.
