Karise Eden has the kind of pure and perfect voice that could have been created in the Garden of Eden (pardon the pun!). Her first name Karise means ‘dearest one’ and I had the chance to ask the young woman who has become the ‘dearest one’, endearing herself to all of us on ‘The Voice’, some questions and chat about her upcoming visit to Tasmania.
Have you been to Tasmania before? Do you plan to do see some sights or have any other plans while you are here?
Yes, I have been and it was lovely! I would love to spend more time in Cradle Mountain; we only got to stay there for one night. I’m so glad we are able to come to Hobart for Heavenly Sounds!
What was the most memorable thing that happened on The Voice for you?
When all four chairs turned around… I was in shock!
You had four songs on the ARIA top five charts something not done since the Beatles in 1964. How do you feel about such records?
It was a really big moment for me; I look forward to breaking more records one day!
A trip to the UK is next for you. Have you been before and what are your plans?
No I haven’t been overseas in general, this is my first time! I have to ride on a double decker bus! I’m excited to be able to spend a whole month working on my own music, and hopefully have some awesome material to share when I tour in October.
Are you and Seal going to record a song together in the future?
I’m not sure but I’ll keep you all posted
What’s a song you would most like to record?
I’m excited to record new original songs, I’m looking forward to play some of my own stuff when I tour.
What is your ultimate ambition?
To sing with Jon Bon Jovi!!!!!!
Karise’s album ‘My Journey’ is out now and you can see Karise perform at St David’s Cathedral on 12th October.
