The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association annual general meeting today confirmed the appointment of three new directors nominated by its commodity councils.

Derby dairy farmer and inaugural Island Award winner Alan Davenport replaces former president Roger Swain as the nominee of the dairy council; Brett Hall, who runs Angus cattle, merino sheep and grows cereal crops on his midlands property Montlea and Bronte property in the southern highlands, replaces Rupert Gregg, also a former president, as the meat council nominee; Thirlstane vegetable grower Matthew Ryan replaces Keeton Miles as the nominated director from the vegetable council.

TFGA president David Gatenby paid tribute to all three retiring directors for their decades of dedication to farming.
