Coroner & Legal
The Sound and Fury
The following piece is a scattered attempt at presenting just a few bits and pieces from the sound and the fury which has followed Professor Jonathan West’s release of his report (TT here), then his Chairman’s report (TT here)and then an interview he participated in, on ABC radio with Mornings presenter, Leon Compton. Who has actually done the reading?
Meanwhile and before, activist and advocacy groups have been working hard – in many places throughout the state. Some photos, taken recently, are included, which show the pulp mill site ready for construction. The writer has little interest in finger pointing, and is more interested in finding ways to stop the pulp mill and to protect native forests.
That writer is me. Lindsay asked for a paragraph as an introduction. This is it, Happy Easter – I give him three little paras. I’m thinking of Ali in jail as I write, of Miranda beyond 100 days, defending the slopes of Mt Mueller. I’m thinking of TWS stalwarts, of anti-mill anti forest groups, Still Standing, FTV, PTM, SWST, Markets for etc and I’m trying to say that we are all still working in our own ways to achieve the defeat of the mill and the protection of the forests. I’m serving tea now, so have a look if you want, at the article – Garry.
