Just thought it would be timely to take your minds off Tassie politics, Pulp mills etc, although there is an indirect connection (cardboard – wood products) and take a look at the image, given it is Xmas time again which means mountains of packaging and wrapping etc.

The image shows all the packaging that comes with a simple little USB cable purchase. I know products are packaged with presentation and security in mind, but how long can we go on like this as a big proportion ends up in landfill, I imagine some is recycled.

Added to this is the sometimes near impossibility of actually getting the product removed from the hideously stiff plastic that encases it unless you are armed with a good pair of scissors or a Stanley knife. Is there a better way of doing it?
