Museums are generally the domain of those who love the smell of things old and musty.
Imaginings of horn-rimmed spectacles, bow ties and shiny black shoes bent over some obscure and unidentified formaldehyde soaked rodent come to the fore whenever the “M” word is mentioned.
A recent Tuesday afternoon’s visit to the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at Inveresk was to check out the never before seen Planetarium with all its gadgetry, awesome dome and what looks like ex 707 seating. If you haven’t been yet, then it is a fantastic use of your precious time and highly recommended.
But the reason for my words today is to sing the praises of a new permanent exhibition that graces the central area of the Museum, Tasmanian Connections.
Exciting, dynamic, interactive and most artistic, this is a concise display that is bursting and flowing with knowledge for you to absorb.
After you have seen the few photos I’ve posted to allow a small glimpse of what is on offer, I’m sure the temptation to visit is now too great to resist.
