Lindsay Tuffin, editor of Tasmanian Times launches Secret Genocide; Voices of the Karen of Burma by journalist and author, Daniel Pedersen.
Daniel Pedersen travelled deep in to the Burmese jungles and into the heart of the Karen State to interview some of the most influential members of the Karen armies who have waged war against the central Burmese government since 1949.
The book also explores the reasons humans resort to violence to consolidate personal fiefdoms at the expense of their own people, the nature of genocide and it examines this particular conflict in detail.
