Has anyone seen Rachel?

Posted on

Rachel Funari went to visit Hobart March 1st traveling backpacker style and intending to meet lots of people. She was scheduled to return
Tuesday (March 8th) but no one has heard from her, nor has she logged into her couch surfing profile in over a week.

An article was published last week in the Mercury on her disappearance. The police are investigating, the American consulate is involved and a
report has been made to Interpol. This is serious and as Rachel’s best friend and an Ambassador I will do everything I can to help.

If she is not found this week, a group of us will come to Tasmania, most likely next weekend (March 19th and 20th) to search, coordinating
with the police I assume. I would love to have your support and that of your community should it come to this. We will need
help/volunteers. Please give me any advice you can and a contact number if you are so inclined. (or write to editor@oldtt.pixelkey.biz).

There’s some more recent information available now;

“Rachel met a man at an internet cafe in Hobart whom she possibly went to Bruny Island with. She had been seen on Bruny Island on Thursday 3rd, and possibly on Friday morning, riding a borrowed bicycle. We still don’t know what happened with her since then.”
