Forests Message for Picnic in the Park, Free Public Event
“Huon Valley Environment Centre and Still Wild Still Threatened are hosting a free public event, Picnic in the Park, this Saturday. With Music, Speakers, Information stalls and circus performers, this free community event is the first of many summer events that will be held by these forest organisations to promote the protection of Tasmania’s threatened southern forests,” Huon Valley Environment Centre’s Jenny Weber said.
“Our organisations are looking forward to seeing the immediate protection of all of Tasmania’s high conservation value forests in 2011, and what a fitting year being the International Year of the Forests. Our focus at this early stage is to ensure a moratorium on all high conservation value forests is implemented by 15th March 2011,” Jenny Weber said.
PICNIC IN THE PARK will be held from 12pm-3pm, this SATURDAY 22nd JANUARY at PRINCES PARK BATTERY POINT
The community is encouraged to bring picnic rugs + picnics
