Print Email this Share Permalink “I’m going to be moving on to some colder pastures!” jokes Leon, who’s heading to 936 ABC Hobart to take on the position of Mornings presenter at the other end of the continent.

Leon spilled the beans on 105.7 Mornings today, thanking his listeners and looking ahead to his final two weeks on air in the Territory.

“I’ve enjoyed myself immensely over the last 7 and a half years,” he said.

“Every morning droves of you call in and text, make the airwaves crackle with life…it certainly makes it a pretty easy job to turn up to and a very hard job to leave.”

Leon has developed a strong connection with the local radio audience during his time up north – working every on-air shift at 105.7 Darwin, including his main role for the last three years as the presenter of the Mornings Show and The Guestroom.

A highlight was in 2009 when he travelled to Dili to present a live program commemorating East Timor’s ten year anniversary of the vote for independence.

Leon’s final day on air will be Friday the 10th of December, but you can still catch him in the chair for the national Nightlife program on ABC Local Radio over Summer.

In 2011, Leon will be replaced by Kate O’Toole, formerly of triple j’s Hack program and ABC Rural
