Zen Monk leaps into Museum Fray!

Posted on

Dr Sennin Charles, a reclusive Zen Monk struck a blow in the five month saga of mismanagment and discrimination affecting Launceston’s Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG). Despite his ascetic lifestyle (living as a semi-hermit outside Georgetown in Northern Tasmania) , Dr Charles has enjoyed a high level career in industry and journalism and has a strong legal and management background. Having attended a boisterous public meeting in late August, (See www.museummugging.com/?articleID=506 ), he became involved in the campaign to force the Launceston City Council, operator of the QVMAG, to follow proper processes and apply the principles of natural justice.

On Friday he lodged a formal complaint against the Council and backed it up with a careful report on their breaches of natural justice in the growing Museum scandal. In it he indicts 10 of the 12 Aldermen of the City, including the Mayor, Albert van Zetten. The complaint and report are attached.

Dr Sennin Charles will respond to e-mails (georgetown.soul@gmail.com) and make arrangements to be available by other means if necessary.

The www.museummugging.com website has been updated with new information about the Sage Management Report, (still secret) and the finding that Dr Lisa-ann Gershwin, the distinguished biologist at the centre of the Museum storm has Asperger’s Syndrome. The charges against her are merely Asperger’s symptoms through the eyes of unsympathetic staff and discriminatory, therefore illegal.

So far the Council has “stone-walled” calls for a review of their highly questionable actions in sacking the Director and cutting off Dr Gershwin’s pay. Are they strong enough though, to withstand the ire of a Zen Monk with a social conscience AND a command of the law (moral and commercial)? Stand back Bruce Lee – Dr Sennin Charles is coming through!
