Montgomery Park in Coningham is still running

Posted on

In the Tasmanian Times edition on 8/2/10 there was an article reporting that Montgomery Park in Coningham had been sold and was potentially not going to be available as a facility for community groups and schools.

That is not correct!

While Mission Afloat has moved to another location, Montgomery Park is still running.

My partner and I bought the facility from the Anglican Church at the beginning of July 2010 and intend to keep it available to a broad range of groups. Our aim is to keep it as low-cost accommodation and will gradually upgrade the facilities. We have been encouraged by the support of our local community as many feared that the facility would have been closed and the land subdivided. They also support the ongoing use of the facility for camps for both children and adults.

Currently it sleeps 70 in dormitory accommodation, has a commercial kitchen, indoor gym, balcony for R&R and BBQs, and an oval. A sand volley ball court is currently under construction. It is waterfront and a very short walk to the tranquil Little Coningham Beach which is ideal for water based activities.

So far we do not have a website up and running but should anyone want to contact us regarding the facility, we can be contacted on montgomerypark181@gmail.com
