Recently I watched a disturbing documentary film titled The Cove about the slaughter of dolphins in the waters off Japan.
I was shocked and angry at the way the dolphins were being killed.
The documentary stated that the National Whaling Commission (NWC) has tried to negotiate ways to decrease slaughter of whales and dolphins.
But as one of the activists interviewed on the documentary said, “every time they (NWC) come together like this they just throw a whole lot of words at each other but never seem to accomplish anything. That is why we cannot rely on any government institution to change anything. It relies on the passion of the individual”.
The documentary really opened my eyes to what is happening to one of the most beautiful creatures with whom we share our planet.
So let’s look at what we can do to save the dolphins. In the end there is only one planet Earth and only few opportunities for humanity to make a difference.
