My service as the federal Member for Denison comes to an end after more than 23 years with the issue of the writs for the forthcoming federal election..
I am looking forward to a return to legal practice at the bar as a Senior Counsel. I am planning to establish chambers in Hobart and interstate.
As a Claremont boy who grew up in Denison nothing beats the pride I have felt in serving my community for 8 terms as their elected Member of Parliament.
Whilst my service to the electorate will expire as of 8pm this evening importantly my electorate office at 188 Collins Street will remain open and my electorate staff will remain available to assist the public with any constituency issues until the declaration of the polls after the election.
