AJ Mackinnon talks about his new book Well At World’s End at Fullers Bookshop, Thursday, July 8, 6pm
AJ Mackinnon, author of the hugely popular The Unlikely Voyage of Jack De Crow will be at Fullers Bookshop on Thursday evening at 6pm to talk about his new book.
The Well at World’s End (Black Inc 2010) tells the story of Mackinnon’s travel – by land, sea , train, truck, horse and yacht – to get to the well, which is a mysterious pool on a remote Scottish island whose waters, legend has it, hold the secret to eternal youth.
He set out from Australia with only a rucksack and fireworks – and the book tells the story of his quirky travels.
Mackinnon is a travel writer known for his tale about sailing a tiny sailing dinghy from the UK to Romania “equipped with cheerful optimism and a pith helmut.” (Unlikely Voyage of Jack De Crow).
Times Literary Supplement praise for The Unlikely Voyage of Jack De Crow ‘a wonderful idea for a book – a series of ever bolder improvisations – undertaken in praise of the spirit of adventure.’
All are welcome to attend this free event.
