Public lecture: Predicting water flows from tsunamis and dam bursts

Posted on

For those interested in THIS this and similar issues (tsunami and dam-burst flooding effects), there is a public lecture tomorrow night in Launceston and this Thursday evening in Hobart by Associate Professor Stephen Roberts from ANU.

Prof. Roberts is a co-developer of the ANUGA code for computer modelling of tsunami and flood events, as recently seen on ABC TV’s The New Inventors. This software has been used for the tsunami modelling of the Hobart area and will be used for debris flow modelling of Mt Wellington in the near future.
