And,
BARTLETT ABDICATION WILL MEAN THAT LABOR SUPPORTS A LIBERAL GOVERNMENT

The Tasmanian Greens today said that if Premier David Bartlett abdicates power and advises the Governor to invite the Liberals to form government, it will be Labor’s responsibility to offer guarantees on supply and stability.
Greens Leader Nick McKim MP said that any abdication by Labor can only be taken as support for a Liberal government, which places the onus on Labor to guarantee supply and confidence.
“If Mr Bartlett abdicates power he will be saying that he supports a Liberal government, which means that it will be his responsibility to prop up that government and deliver the stability that Tasmania deserves. If he will not do this, he will be exposed as an agent of instability.”
Mr McKim said that the Greens continue to believe that a negotiated arrangement provides the most stability, and the best prospects of good governance for Tasmania.
“We would of course discuss guarantees of supply and confidence as part of any negotiation.”
“The only reason that negotiations are not underway already is that bitter old ideologues like Michael Field and Eric Abetz are running the strategies of their respective parties,” Mr McKim said.
