Featuring Dr. Warwick Raverty and Tom Baxter
Tonight pulp mill whistleblower, Dr. Warwick Raverty, and UTAS corporate governance lecturer
Tom Baxter will speak at a Hobart forum about corruption and ethics in Tasmanian politics and
elections.
The event is hosted by campaigning groups GetUp and Our Common Ground, who are together
running an anti-corruption television ad featuring Dr. Raverty that is saturating airwaves this
week. Dr. Raverty and Tom Baxter are available for interviews today.
What: Video opportunity: Dr. Raverty and Tom Baxter speaking on political
corruption and in Tasmania and taking audience questions. There will be
opportunities to speak with audience members who are willing to be
interviewed.

Dr. Raverty will share his inside story, from his time as the Chief Technical Advisor for the
Resource, Planning and Development Commission, charged with assessing the Gunns pulp mill,
before Gunns pulled out and fast track approval was passed by both major parties.
Tom Baxter is a UTAS lecturer in corporate governance who organised an open letter to politicians
signed by 28 legal professionals and academics on the unhealthy relationship between the
Government and the timber industry (published in The Mercury on 16 March).
