A meeting of representatives from the George River Water Quality Panel was held in Sydney today with Dr Marcus Scammell and Dr Alison Bleaney.

Dr Scammell presented the findings of his report into the issue of water quality in the George River and discussed those findings with the panel members present.

The George River Water Quality Panel will now review the report.

The George River Water Quality Panel has been formed as a result of a recommendation by the Tasmanian Director of Public Health that a process be established to address issues
raised in the Australian Story ABC television program which aired in February this year.
