THE Liberal Party is desperately searching for a high-profile professional woman to replace Sue Napier in Bass.
Liberal leader Will Hodgman yesterday met prospective candidates in Launceston, but none of the women was prepared to accept the rushed political opportunity.
It is understood two of the women approached by the Liberals are Launceston Chamber of Commerce chief and Festivale chairwoman Louise Clark and former Launceston deputy mayor and current alderman Rosemary Armitage.
Mr Hodgman yesterday indicated he was keen to announce a suitably high-calibre replacement candidate for Mrs Napier in the next few days.
