Libs write to Premier over McCain taskforce

– Rockliff, Whiteley visit to Circular Head today –

The State Opposition has today written to the Premier formally requesting that we be represented on the Government’s McCain Community Taskforce.

After we raised the issue publicly yesterday, the Government has yet to properly respond.

Jeremy Rockliff said:

I am disappointed that in response to our calls for a bipartisan approach, Bryan Green responded with cheap politicking over the Tarkine.

I hope that cooler and more sensible heads will prevail today and that the Premier will agree to the alternative government being represented.

Brett Whiteley said:

Today we will meet with the Mayor of Circular Head, Daryl Quilliam, as well as farmer and community representatives.

All agree that this issue should be above politics and that we should work positively together for the local community.
