I certainly can see the benefit of storing carbon in solid products and constructions from sustainably harvested native forests and from appropriately sited and managed plantations.

What I have trouble with is when commercial timber, wildlife habitat and catchment zones are burnt in the quantities that it has been in Tasmania and when plantations displace productive agricultural land.
