· After 11 long years, just before an election, Labor suddenly discovers Tasmanians are doing it tough
· Many of today’s announcements not “new” initiatives
If Premier was serious about social inclusion, he would review the impact of his water and sewerage changes on our most vulnerable
After 11 long years of Government, on the eve of an election, the Premier has discovered Tasmanians are doing it tough.
If the Premier really wanted to address social inclusion in Tasmania he would have reviewed his water and sewerage changes which are hitting all Tasmanians, particularly those most vulnerable.
Tasmanians will not be fooled. The fact is, today’s announcement is only a drop in the ocean compared to the massive price hikes for power, bus fares, third party insurance premiums, land tax and water and sewerage bills Tasmanians have faced under this Government.
In addition, many of today’s “announcements” appear to be a rehash of old announcements. For example, funding for Volunteers Tasmania, the Community Transport Trust, the Emergency Relief Fund and Social Inclusion liaison officers.
