The Razor – is put together by a team of volunteer writers, editors and journalists. It provides a social and relaxed way to build your experience, portfolio and audience as an online journalist.
It came about as a publishing alternative for writers, photographers, cartoonists and the opinionated faceless wierdos of the Internet. Not as clannish or hard to crack as online mastheads of major papers, not as lame or isolated as a personal blog, the Razor positions itself between the two.
It’s an open news site, anyone is welcome to post their news story, editorial, photograph or cartoon. Our primary aim is to build an online community of thinkers and encourage debate on current and lasting issues in the public forum. What’s more we’ll pay you for it.
Every month, the single article, photo or cartoon that gets the most unique hits will win a cash reward of $500 dollars. We’ve given you the tools to post and promote your own article through social media sites. Please see our style guide for tips and house style.
The rest is up to you. Just remember that we are after fresh opinions and news. We already know what our friends think; all we ask is that you tell us something we don’t know.
