The Tasmanian Greens today responded to concerns raised about the display of the Aboriginal flag in the House of Assembly.

Greens Leader and Aboriginal Affairs spokesperson Nick McKim MP said that the Aboriginal flag is a symbol which belongs to the Aboriginal people and if they do not wish for it to be displayed in the House then their wishes should be respected.

“If the Aboriginal community want their flag displayed in the House, then it should be displayed. If they do not wish it displayed, then it should be removed,” Mr McKim said.
