KAY MCFARLANE AND MAX BAHRFELT TO CONTEST CLARENCE COUNCIL ELECTIONS
Nick McKim,MP, today announced that the Tasmanian Greens Clarence City Council Team will be the currently elected Kay McFarlane, running for Alderman and Deputy Mayor, along with support candidate Max Bahrfeldt, running for Alderman.
Kay stated that, “as Deputy Major I can provide vision for Clarence and have a proven track record of delivering on promises. My strategic plan for tracks and trails can provide jobs, better health and recreation opportunities for all residents.”
Kay gave a commitment, if elected, to:
Investigate Ferries for Kangaroo Bay
Develop Clarence Street as a bicycle commuter road
Increase support for the ‘Ready Set Go’ driving program
Use Tracks and Trails to create local jobs
Promote Regional Planning to benefit our City
Fellow candidate Max Bahrfeldt, a long-term Clarence resident, said, “I know why people choose to live here, and want to preserve and improve this lifestyle.”
If elected, he will work to:
provide support for new local jobs, especially green jobs
encourage local child care, adult learning and literacy support
put all Council buildings on solar power
oppose development of canal estates and
preserve healthy native trees on public land
