FIX FERRY ROAD
The Fix Ferry Road Campaign kicked off earlier this year with a call to the Bartlett government to seek funding from the Federal Government’s financial stimulus package. Too hard said the local lot- “We can only apply for funding for ’shovel-ready’ projects and we don’t have any of those”. (this despite a detailed concept design for Ferry Road improvements having been prepared in 2003 – Ed)
So yet another study was commissioned to complement the ones completed in 1997, 2001 and 2003. The outcome of this $30,000 study has now been made available for public comment and the locals wait with baited breath to see if this will finally be used to make something happen to fix Ferry Road.
Meanwhile, according to the official government website, Kettering has already benefited from the economic stimulus package. The benefit so far has been three ceiling insulation rebates and one solar hot water rebate!
