TASMANIAN timber company Gunns remains in contention to secure a 100,000 hectare plantation estate from failed managed investment scheme company Timbercorp. A spokesman for Timbercorp yesterday confirmed that Gunns had been asked to make a formal bid for the eucalypt plantations that are primarily based in the green triangle region of Victoria and South Australia.
