A rare opportunity for lovers of Australian literature –
Fullers Bookshop is excited to announce that Tim Winton, one of Australia’s most respected and loved authors, will be speaking at a one-off event at the Stanley Burbury Theatre on Wednesday May 13 at 7.30pm.
This event is not part of a tour and Tasmanian audiences are privileged to have this rare opportunity to hear Winton speak as he is notoriously publicity shy.
Winton’s most recent book, Breath, has been shortlisted for the 2009 Miles Franklin Award – the pinnacle of Australian literary awards.
He has previously won this award in 1984, 1992 and 2002.
Winton, who was born in Western Australia in 1960, began to write his first novel when he was attending a creative writing course at Curtin University in 1982.
He has been a full time writer ever since.
His work generally deals with landscape and is lauded by critics and readers alike.
Winton is a full-time writer of considerable talent and this event is not to be missed.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from Fullers Bookshop
