The weird thing about all this is that the Tasmanian government (as a too-long incumbent government) has entrenched itself as much in the pig wallow as did the Bjelke Peterson government yet it somehow manages to get away with it and remain reasonably popular. Why is this so? Totally out of touch with the Tasmanian people, it ought to be totally on the nose but has managed to engineer a one-party state, whereupon it will, in all likelihood, be re-elected despite outrageous failure of good governance. The stupidest thing the Liberals did was to go in cahoots with Labor to shrink the parliament so that the only viable majority government is the only one that happens to have upper house seats.
