The Danish island of Samso [pop. 4,000] expended $70M in 10 years to take its rural economy from an energy importing carbon polluting old thinking model to a energy exporting carbon positive new thinking model that has made the island attractive to migrants from other parts of Denmark. This was achieved using a combionation of local investment and government grants. The cost was $1750 per year per resident. McKim proposes that Tasmania take 40 years [+-$438 pa]to remove carbon emissions from our economy, positioning Tasmania as a global leader in Green Energy. Read more, Comment here
