IHOS Music Theatre & Opera presents
THE LUNCH BOX, by Thanapoom Sirichang
IHOS Music Theatre & Opera is pleased to invite you to meet the
creative team behind The Lunch Box over refreshments at the IHOS studio.
When: 6pm Tuesday 24 February 2009
Where: 32 Pitt Street, North Hobart
As Artistic Director of IHOS Music Theatre & Opera, I’m thrilled to be just a month away from another opening night.
As I’m sure you will have heard, our new chamber opera, The Lunch Box, is having its world premiere at this year’s 10 Days on the Island Festival. This poignant work blends Western and Thai musical traditions, and has been composed and produced entirely in Tasmania.
In recognition of The Lunch Box’s significance as a unique cross-cultural collaboration, I invite you to share refreshments and conversation with composer Thanapoom Sirichang and designer/director Joey Ruigrok van der Werven. They will be at the IHOS studio with me at 6 pm on Tuesday 24 February, and we’d love to see you there.
The Lunch Box features renowned soloists from the Bangkok Opera – soprano Monique Klongtruadroke and Baritone Saran Suebsantiwongse. The sound designer is Greg Gurr and the lighting designer is Sydney Bouhaniche from France.
I hope you will be so inspired by what you learn at our small gathering that you will become Lunch Box ambassadors and spread the word to your many friends and family. We’ll even reward you with one free ticket if you book for a group of six or more.
I look forward to seeing you on the 24th of February. Please RSVP by emailing Lyn at [email protected] to avoid disappointment.
Best regards
Constantine Koukias
