What Labor insider Deeper Throat says …
My guess is, as has been the recent practice of the current crop of Left wing idealists, she’ll drop her independent bent to keep her ministerial career alive. If not …
WELL, fuck my boots! Coupla months ago Terry’s mate was too inexperienced now she’s gonna bring fresh ideas, energy and enthusiasm to her new role.
Bart is a goose and he’s rapidly losing credibility with the wider electorate. There was never any need for him to announce why Singh wasn’t selected in the last cabinet reshuffle.
We all knew! Now he looks like a fool through his backflip. And, there was never any need to promise to the world that he would announce the details of the settlement between the Government and Ben Chaffey.
He has made a rod for his own back. In fact, he could be quite rightly asked to provide the details of all settlements with former employees the government has been involved with since coming to power (and believe me there have been plenty).
These sorts of settlements are relatively common and are usually paid more to buy silence than to compensate an aggrieved employee and is commensurate with seniority – that’s another story for another day though.
But getting back to Lisa. How Bartlett could give her a ministry beggars belief. She’s already proven that she can’t be trusted to support the government line in Caucus. It’ll be interesting to see if she maintains her independent stance on pet issues now she’s in Cabinet.
My guess is, as has been the recent practice of the current crop of Left wing idealists, she’ll drop her independent bent to keep her ministerial career alive. If not, THEN Bryan will be back (unless he loses his seat at the next punt).
