Climate Change and Tasmania: Our Place in the Global Solution

What are the climate change issues that face Tasmania and the planet?
How will Tasmanians deal with the challenge?

Guest speakers:
Dr Graeme Pearman will present:
“Complexity, uncertainty, urgency and equity; The challenges of climate change”.
Graeme’s research on the impacts of increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is recognised internationally. In a distinguished career, he has received many awards for his research. Graeme became science adviser to Al Gore, who visited Australia in 2006 and 2007. Since then, Graeme has given over 150 briefings on climate-change science to companies, governments, peak industry bodies and public forums.

Mr Greg Johannes will present:
“Climate Change; Empowering Tasmanians to Act”.
Greg is the Deputy Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet, Tasmania, and is the Government’s principal representative on climate change. In 2008, Greg established the Tasmanian Climate Change Office.
