LAKE PEDDER PAINTINGS
A superb new large format book presenting fifty years work by Max Angus has been released as the artist celebrates his 94th birthday.
Present and future generations will delight in this visual and inscribed record created by one of the country’s most distinguished watercolour painters.
Kate Crowley, Dean of Graduate Research, UTAS, comments:
“The loss of Lake Pedder was a loss of epic proportions, a global ecological tragedy….Those who loved the tiny jewel of the South-West have never been reconciled to its flooding, and remain inspired today by haunting memories of its once gentle beauty.”
The new book Pedder. The story. The paintings, published by the Lake Pedder Restoration Committee, will be launched by the Hon William Cox at Fullers Hobart Bookstore on Sunday.
