The Premier will be holding a Fuel Summit in Launceston on 4 September 2008.
The summit will bring together more than 120 stakeholders and experts involved in the fuel price debate to generate ideas and solutions to ease the impact of increasing fuel prices on Tasmanian families and businesses.

The Premier will be holding a Fuel Summit in Launceston on 4 September 2008.
The summit will bring together more than 120 stakeholders and experts involved in the fuel price debate to generate ideas and solutions to ease the impact of increasing fuel prices on Tasmanian families and businesses.
The Fuel Summit will address six themes:
· Transport dependent industries – How can we mitigate rising fuel costs affecting industry?
· Connectivity/Disadvantaged – How can we support those most affected by rising transport costs?
· Public transport – How can we increase the availability and usage of public transport options?
· Alternative fuels – What are the fuels of the future and how can we best take advantage of them?
· Transport efficiency – How can we increase our use of more efficient transport?
· Urban form – How can we better plan our cities and urban centres for future transport challenges?
A new website has been launched this week to give all Tasmanians the opportunity to provide input regarding what issues and ideas they believe should be examined at the Fuel Summit.
