TAP (Tasmanians Against the Pulpmill) kicks off two weeks of civil unrest on Friday August 15.
15 August Friday 2.00pm West Tamar Council Chambers at Riverside.
Demonstration to impress upon the West Tamar Council that the ratepayers will not tolerate the WTC allowing Gunns free access for the proposed pulp mill pipeline to land owned by electors.
19-21 August Tuesday – Thursday Albert Hall Launceston
Tent Embassy outside the Launceston sitting of parliament. A joint project of TAP and the Tasmanian Aboriginal community.
20 August Wednesday 6.30pm Gunns Pulp Mill and Climate Change Public Forum Tailrace Centre Riverside facilitated by Environment Tasmania and including representatives from Gunns and Forestry Tasmania.
23 August Saturday 12.00pm Rally and March City Park Launceston

One of the main outcomes of the Rally will be a demand for a repeal of the Pulp Mill Assessment Act 2007, in particular the pernicious Section 11 which denies the people of Tasmania access to their own legal system.

27 August Wednesday. Kim Booth MHA (Greens) tables a private member’s bill to repeal the PMAA 2007. A big community presence is expected inside parliament for the debate.
