It seems that Tasmania has invented a new form of gambling – pulp mill poker – and both the State Labor and Liberal parties are willing to bet heavily with both the public purse and the public good.

Really, what understanding has any member of the State Government or the Opposition about the rules of this new game? My own experiences tell me they understand very little. But this does not stop them betting.

Of course, the masters of the game are happy to press on, bluffing, raising the stakes, working the cards, in the sure knowledge that they will force the mugs to throw in their hand first.

Let’s demand a stop to the game. It is still a gamble and we should no longer be part of it. Let one set of honest market rules apply.
