HOBART’S air quality breached national guidelines twice during the autumn burn-off season. Records released yesterday show harmful PM2.5 pollution exceeded acceptable levels over two days in late April when a dense smoke haze blanketed the city. Environmental management director Warren Jones confirmed the breaches were almost certainly due to forestry regeneration burns and Hobart City Council fuel reduction. Read more here
