Just think of this scenario for a minute…if Cox had failed to report Rouse to police, the police wouldn’t have been able to set up the sting to catch Alloi who fingered Rouse. If Cox had said nothing for 20 odd years and today, as a Minister of the Lennon Government, said “oh by the way, old Edmund tried to bribe me to cross the floor back in 1989 but I didn’t report it as I didn’t think anyone would believe me…” do you think we’d all just let it go through to the keeper? Or, do you think everyone would be baying for him to resign? And who do you think would be leading that charge? The Greens, perhaps? So – should Brown resign from the Senate for failing in his duty?
