READERS will be pleased to hear that the Minister for Economic Development and Tourism, Paula Wriedt, recently informed the Greens Leader, Peg Putt, that a 20 minute trailer of the controversial ‘Returning Gilbert’ project has suddenly appeared.
This is despite the fact Screen Tasmania director, Karena Slaninka, earlier informed concerned filmmaker, Mark Shea, that no film existed.

Taxpayer Funding of $41,880 was given to Troy Melville and Janine Wright to visit Africa to film a story about a Zebra. Paula Wriedt stated the funding was only for development and not for production.

When contacted about the appearance of the trailer, Mark Shea stated, ‘All is now in order, a $2,000 a minute trailer has been produced, the trip to Africa was well worth it’.

I am currently putting in for development funding myself, on the very Tasmanian story of a Llama in South America!
