A public invitation …
You are invited to learn more about the unique fauna and flora in and around St Marys (donation at the door)
South Sister is a biodiverse area with many special natural features. Save Our Sisters Group and the North-East Bioregional Network have organised a Flora and Fauna Workshop at St Marys Town Hall on Saturday April 5, 2008 at 9.15 am. Speakers include Sarah Lloyd, Peter McQuillan, Saray Fayed, David Leaman, Todd Dudley and Nick Fitzgerald.
Guided walking tours will be held in the afternoon and for those who are interested, walks can also be held on Sunday April 6, 2008.
It will be a great day out for all who come so set aside the time and find out about this unique area.
Saturday April 5, at the St Marys Town Hall:
9 15 am: Introductions-
9 20 – 10 05: David Leaman: Water and climate around the cloud mountains.
10 10 – 11 05: Peter McQuillan and Sarah Fayed: invertebrates on Sisters and the Nicholas Range
11 05 – 11 30 morning tea – provided
11 30 – 12 15: Sarah Lloyd: birds and their habitat
12 20 – 1 pm: Todd Dudley and Nick Fitzgerald: biodiversity and reserve interconnection.
1 pm: lunch: ($6.00 soup and homemade crusty bread or eScape Café next door)
2 – 5 pm – guided walking tours: a bird, bug, plant and water tour on the Sisters and Mt Nicholas Range
